This Friday, it is the end of an era when Nigel Burn, our Works Director, leaves us after 9 memorable years.

Nigel, a former Navy man, has decided to go back to his first love and go in to business for himself running a Marine maintenance business in Plymouth, where Nigel lives with his wife Karen and three kids.

Whilst of course we were disappointed to hear that Nigel was leaving, we respected his decision and have spent the last three months sorting out a suitable replacement. We had some fantastic candidates who wanted to join the Exeter Express & Echo Business of the Year and we are delighted to announce that Nigel’s replacement is Leigh Andrews, who joins us on Monday. Leigh brings with him a wealth of engineering and management experience and we are confident that he can hit the ground running and help us take Van Guard to the next level as we plan for even more growth.

We will miss Nigel hugely and I am sure many of you will have cause to be sad that he is leaving and be grateful for the assistance he has given you over the years. We certainly are and he goes with our very best wishes and our gratitude for all the hard work and dedication he has put in to his time at Van Guard.
