Ensuring that your van is secure is one of the main ways to prevent your tools from being stolen in the current tool theft epidemic. It can be hard to understand the differences between aftermarket van locks, so we’re here to tell you the difference between a Hooklock and a Deadlock.

Hooklock

Hooklocks are a type of deadlock. They are more secure than a normal deadlock.

Hooklocks are the next generation of van security deadlocks, offering the next level of security for your van. The hook style bolt is thrown and hooks into the receiving bracket, making it harder for thieves to force open and gain access to your vehicle. A hook style bolt does not allow access by hand tools or brute force.

Deadlocks

Deadlocks work in the same way as hooklocks, but instead of throwing a hook into a receiving bracket, they throw a straight bolt. Deadlocks are designed to be placed in the best possible location to help prevent against an attack.

They are used on doors which do not have enough space for hook bolts or when you simply want added security from an additional locking point.
