We’ve joined forces with ARMD to prevent and protect tradespeople against van crime. Our new partnership means that businesses and tradespeople across the country can benefit from our ultimate range of van security products and ARMD’s innovative tool protection solutions.

Van crime has a significant impact on the UK’s tradespeople and their businesses. The consequences of stolen tools include loss of earnings and reputation, letting down customers and high cost of tool replacement. The cost of replacing tools can be extremely high, with an average loss per break-in being around £350.

A van is broken into every 23 minutes in the UK, with this equating to more than £30m worth of goods stolen annually from vans alone. More than half (51%) of UK builders have had their tools stolen at least once, and almost half (44%) currently do not hold any tool cover insurance.

This means businesses are having to pay out tens of thousands each year for lost earnings through work, all because they have not taken simple steps like securing their van by fitting our ULTILock range or insuring their tools against theft through ARMD.

How Van Guard and ARMD can help:

  • We offer the ultimate security products including locks and shielding
  • Our ULTILock range includes the first Gold Standard Sold Secure hooklock, which is also Secured by Design accredited
  • ARMD offer a free Tool Inventory app meaning they can quickly help tradespeople get back to business in the unfortunate event their tools get stolen
  • ARMD Insurance provides tradespeople with specific tool protection
  • Utilisation of the app means ARMD can easily see what tools belong to a tradesperson; avoiding any disputes when making a claim
  • Easily replace any stolen tools on ARMD’s tool shop
